What this entity is

An aggressive malignant mesenchymal neoplasm that arises from smooth muscle cells and is characterized by a proliferation of neoplastic spindle cells. Morphologic variants include epithelioid, granular cell, inflammatory, and myxoid leiomyosarcoma. It usually occurs in post-menopausal women.
