Biomedical literature index. CancerIndex uses E-utilities for two bounded jobs: (a) research-activity counts per canonical cancer (esearch rettype=count over documented time windows, query stored with every count) and (b) recent publications per top-level cancer (esearch + efetch XML) linked to cancers via MeSH/dictionary and to trials via NCT identifiers. No bulk mining of the 4M+ neoplasm records through the API.

Every execution of the connector: mode, status, counts, duration and dataset version. Runs never mass-delete on a shrunken response (anomaly guard).
