ChEMBL (EMBL-EBI)
Manually curated database of bioactive molecules with drug-like properties. CancerIndex enriches its existing drugs (from CIViC and trials) — never the 2.9 M compound universe — with the ChEMBL identifier, molecule type, mechanism(s) of action, clinical development phase, synonyms (brands, INN, research codes), protein targets mapped to HGNC genes (drug TARGETS gene edges) and MeSH-coded drug indications resolved to canonical cancers (drug INVESTIGATED_FOR cancer edges). First-approval years and ATC codes stay in the raw source record: jurisdictional approvals come from regulatory connectors (CLAUDE.md §13).
